This not-much explored area stretches from Cairns to Cardwell and is bordered by the Wet Tropics Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. Mission Beach is located here and is home to a collection of four charming towns spread along the 14km coastline. Each town has its own unique charm that’s cosy, friendly, and laid-back.

Aside from being the birthplace of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, Mission Beach is the closest gateway to the reef, just under 40km offshore. They are also considered to be the world’s most dangerous bird because of their claws rivalling Freddy Krueger’s claw glove.
